What a check sends
When you press Check, your browser sends the keyword and the Google country to this site’s server. The server passes them to SE Ranking’s SERP API, which loads the Google results page for that keyword. Nothing else from the form is sent.
The “Your site” field never leaves your browser. The report you get back is compared with your domain on your own device.
What the server keeps
- Reports, for 24 hours. A finished report is stored under its keyword and country, so a repeat check within a day is answered from storage. It records what Google showed, not who asked.
- Unfinished checks, for 30 minutes. When Google is slow, the id of the pending check is kept so your next attempt can pick it up instead of starting over.
- A daily counter. The 3 free checks a day are counted per IP address. The address is stored only as a keyed one-way hash, never in readable form, and the counters are deleted after 2 days.
Links you share
The page address, and the link from “Copy link”, contain the keyword, the country and, if you entered it, your site. Anyone who opens that link can read them, and they reach the server when the link is opened.
Hosting
Cloudflare serves this site and runs its server. To deliver pages and keep out abuse, Cloudflare processes request data such as IP addresses. When a check fails, the server logs what failed, never the keyword.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. This page will be updated before that changes.
